Literature Text

I lost hold of my whole old life
I let it all slip out of sight
I lost my friends, I lost my foes
I lost the things that meant the most

What I've started to realize
We can hold on if we try
But now it's too late to feel right
I'm okay with that
'cause if I really missed you
I'd pick up my phone and call you
But I know now that we're through
And we can't go back

We used to talk, near every day
Now it just don't feel the same
You were the one, who meant the most
But you were also, the first to go

What I've started to realize
We can hold on if we try
But now it's too late to feel right
I'm okay with that
'cause if I really missed you
I'd pick up my phone and call you
But I know now that we're through
And we can't go back

There are some days I want it back
But now my life's a different track
And I'll miss you, near ever day
But no longer in the same way

We fell apart, we drifted out
We didn't care enough about
What we once had, what we once made
And it no longer felt the same

What I've started to realize
We can hold on if we try
But now it's too late to feel right
I'm okay with that
'cause if I really missed you
I'd pick up my phone and call you
But I know now that we're through
And we can't go back
